Hyundai Exter SUV specifications

Recently, SUVs have been dominating the India market as they are comfortable as well as affordable. These cars can be used as adventure cars as well as a family car. The person driving the SUV always feels confident and authoritative as the road presence of these cars are top notch.

The Hyundai has always been a top player in the market and to make it launches models time to time to make it’s presence seen. Again, Hyundai India is back with a bang, the bang is the power pack, compact, cozy yet strong Exter SUV.

The Hyundai Exter has started to reach respective customers as deliveries began just a day after it was launched on July 10th 2023. The Exter's introductory prices start from Rs 5.99 lakh onwards. The Hyundai Exter had racked over 10,000 bookings at the time of its launch.

Hyundai has equipped the micro-SUV with the same 83PS/114Nm, 1.2-litre petrol found in the Grand i10 Nios. A five-speed manual is standard, while a five-speed AMT is an optional transmission. A CNG kit paired to a 5-speed manual is also offered and has an output of 69PS and 95.2Nm in CNG mode. The Exter returns 19.4kmpl with the 1.2-litre manual powertrain and 19.2kmpl with the AMT gearbox. In CNG mode, it boasts a fuel efficiency of 27.1km/kg.

The Exter sports an upright and boxy stance with chunky bumpers. The front and rear fascia seem mirrored thanks to the distinctive H-shaped lighting elements for the LED DRLs and LED taillamps. It also gets premium-looking 15-inch alloy wheels. However, it only gets halogen headlamps and misses out on front fog lamps.

The cabin of the Exter is finished in all black with three choices of colour accents depending on the exterior colour - Sage (green), Cosmic Blue, and silver. These accents in the upholstery and around the dash give the Exter a youthful appeal.

The upright design of the Exter allows for a spacious cabin with plenty of headroom and sufficient legroom. However, due to its width, fitting three adults on the rear bench could be a squeeze.

It gets segment-first features like a voice-controlled sunroof, dual-cam dash cam and wireless phone charger. Other comforts include cruise control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tyre-pressure monitor, and digitised instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch TFT MID.
