On October 8, BYD plans to introduce the all-electric eMAX 7 MPV in India. The eMAX 7, which has been available for purchase in India for over three years, is essentially the redesigned e6 MPV, BYD's first model in the country. The upgrade will bring a number of new features and a redesign to the MPV. Right now, the international market is offering the eMAX 7.
The eMAX 7 MPV will aesthetically mimic the departing e6 with the same basic form and proportions, but it will have significant modifications to the front and rear end to breathe fresh life into the rather antiquated e6. The eMAX 7's headlights are shaped similarly to the e6, but its inside has been updated with new lighting components. Additional modifications to the front end include a new enclosed grille with chrome lining and a new bumper with a revised air dam. The eMAX 7 has a revised rear bumper and new tail lamps that are joined by a thin light bar on the back.
The BYD e6's interior design is anticipated to be carried over into the eMAX 7. It is anticipated to receive some additional amenities, though, such as a panoramic sunroof and a bigger touchscreen akin to the BYD M6, as the eMAX 7 is known in some regions. In addition, the eMAX 7 is anticipated to be available in six- and seven-seat configurations and will include three rows of seats as opposed to the e6.
Similar to the e6, the 71.8 kWh battery pack that provided up to 520 km of range in the outgoing model is probably going to be available for the eMAX 7. However, according to BYD, the new eMAX 7 would perform better than the model it replaced. The Atto 3's 201 bhp, 310 Nm motor, which the M6 shares with it, may be available in the India-spec eMAX 7.
